JOHNSON LIEBMAN LLP is a civil litigation firm, serving institutional and individual clients throughout the states of New York and Northern New Jersey. We have maintained our main Broadway offices in the Tribeca area of Manhattan for nearly 25 years.

Founding partners Robert E. Johnson, Esq. and Charles D. Liebman, Esq. merged their practices to combine their independent experience in the insurance industry, government, major law firm trial, and appellate practice to form a firm that is committed to providing quality legal representation. Our firm specializes in civil litigation matters involving the defense and prosecution of commercial liability claims and disputes, motor vehicle and premises liability claims, and general litigation matters. Our firm also represents businesses and individuals in general law practice matters involving real estate transactions and estate matters.

Robert E. Johnson, Partner

Robert E. Johnson is a civil litigation attorney with extensive litigation and transactional experience. He currently represents several insurers, self-insured entities, risk-retention groups, third-party administrators, local governments, professional practices, small businesses, and individuals. He has successfully represented major corporations, transportation companies, supermarkets, medical, dental, law, and various professional practices, day care centers, and retail businesses, large and small, in addition to individuals, in a variety of civil litigation matters. Robert has also handled complex litigation on behalf of companies and individuals resulting in multimillion-dollar recoveries for our clients.

Robert received his law degree from Brooklyn Law School, following a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with honors, earned at City College of New York.

Charles D. Liebman, Partner

Charles D. Liebman is an experienced trial and appellate attorney. He has served various diplomatic missions to the United Nations, corporations, and private clients on a variety of commercial, real estate, and general liability matters. His appellate work on coverage issues, premises liability, toxic torts, and motor vehicle cases has written new law in the state of New York. Charles is actively engaged in assisting clients with real estate and service contracts as well as structuring agreements between manufacturers and their clients. In addition to trial and appellate work, Charles has extensive experience in arbitration proceedings and mediation.

Charles is admitted to the State and Federal Courts of New York and New Jersey.

Mitchell Tauber, Associate

Mitchell Tauber is an associate at Johnson Liebman LLP involved in personal injury and property damage litigation. He provides clients with comprehensive legal support, including case evaluation, litigation practice, and settlement negotiations

Mitchell earned his Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in International Politics from Penn State University. During law school, he gained valuable experience as a judicial intern for Judge Hany A. Mawla of the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division.

He is admitted to practice in New York and is committed to delivering effective legal solutions to his clients.
